So, picture this: it's just after 7am on a Monday morning, and there I am, sipping my morning coffee, excited for the week ahead.

Suddenly, I'm hit with this Wake Up Legendary moment, my coffee nearly went airborne.

“DANG” I shouted, “That's my next email!”

Last Monday on Wake Up Legendary, Dave dropped a truth bomb that had me floored, it was so stinkin’ good:

“People aren't thinking to themselves, I think I’ll go on Tiktok and find myself a marriage or a guru to follow for the rest of my life. NO! They’re scrolling for a hook up!”

People aren’t on TikTok hunting for a soulmate or a life coach.

They're there for a fun fling with content!

Now, we're not in the business of swiping right on Tinder…

But we should be all about creating killer content.

When we switch gears from content consumers to creators, we often forget our roots.

Remember those days of aimlessly scrolling through reels or TikTok's FYP?

We weren’t on a quest for some earth-shattering online connection.

Nah, we were there for something more… casual.

We wanted a content ‘hook-up' – a quick fix of laughs, knowledge, entertainment, or just a momentary escape from reality.

Social media scrolling is kind of selfish when you think about it.

It's all about what the viewer wants, not about pleasing anyone else.

But once we become content creators, we often stay stuck in this ‘me-centric' universe, obsessing over what we want from our audience.

And that, my friends, is where we mess it all up.

We act like our audience owes us their likes, their clicks, their follows.

But in reality – they don't owe us squat.

We're the ones who should be dishing out the goods.

So, next time you're crafting content, ask yourself…

Are you serving up what your audience craves, or are you too wrapped up in your own wants?

We gotta stop fixating on what we can get, and start focusing on what we can give.

And maybe, just maybe, we'll find that creating for others is the best way to fulfill ourselves.
