The Weekly Legend

It’s that time of year again…

We start to hit the road or the air on our family vacations. 

Ya know the dream…your family all relaxing, recharging, creating memories.

We envision 5-7 days of pure…

Laughter.

Quality time together.

Bliss.

That vacation dream truly is beautiful. 

But no one mentions…

The tantrums 

The bickering

The “when are we getting there?” question every 30 minutes. 

The road construction delays

Or like myself, a roadtrip with 3 teenagers is filled with a sprinkling of eye rolls, sleeping, sarcasm, animal noises, mixed in with the occasional cup a fart to unleash pure chaos in the back seat.

But ya know what else it’s filled with? 

Moments that make it all worth it. 

Moments of…

Laughter

Joy

Peace

Smiles

Connection

There’s never a finish line reached of vacation perfection and success. 

I could even argue that the more time you spend stressing over creating a perfect family vacation, the more likely it’s going to blow up in your face. 

Someone will have a disagreement…

The schedule will indeed change…

Something will not go as planned.

And if it’s one of my kids, there’s always a probability of a quick trip to urgent care or the ER for stitches. 

The more we sit around planning and hoping instead of just rolling with it, the more likely we won’t even see the moments of vacation bliss right in front of us. 

You'll miss the hugs, the fun, the laughter and excitement on their faces. 

The journey of the entrepreneur is very much the same way.

It’s impossible to be a perfect entrepreneur. 

We gotta stop obsessing over having “everything” perfectly setup before creating one piece of content.

Focusing and waiting on perfection is keeping you stuck.

As Dave has shared multiple times, including during this Friday’s Wake Up Legendary interview…

“Fail Forward Fast.”

We all know there’s going to be bickering from teenagers during a 7 hour car ride.

I could spend weeks planning and stressing about the “perfect” car ride…

But the only way to our destination is to go through it. 

See what moments we can make smoother, and just keep driving forward. 

Your business is the same way. 

We have to stop sitting around stressing over building something perfect to get to the end goal as fast as possible.

Instead…jump in the car, buckle up and enjoy the ride of twists, turns, highs, lows. 

Move through the moments of frustration as quickly as possible.

And savor those moments of bliss, joy, and success along the way.
